Lois Ann Underwood Capps

December 11, 82, 

Lois Ann Underwood Capps, 82, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Lois was born in Duplin County, NC on May 30, 1936 to the late Rodney Underwood and Gouldia Summerlin Underwood. She was married to the late John Linwood “Snapper” Capps. Lois enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends. She was a valued employee of the Goldsboro News Argus for many years. Lois was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, December 14, 2018 at New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Wellman officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, December 14, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church and at other times at the home of John and Jewell Capps. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Lois is survived by her son, John “Squirrel” Capps and wife Jewell “Sally”of Goldsboro; sister, Connie Huebschmann and husband Jerry of Nashville, TN; granddaughters, Casie Capps of Seattle, Washington and Christy Capps of Raleigh; step-grandchildren, Josh Lanaville and wife Sharon and Jewell Lanaville; step-great grandchildren, Leslie Waters and Laney Waters and a special canine friend, Soffee.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lois was preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Underwood.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, 200 E. New Hope Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
