Suspect Accused Of Using Stolen Debit & Credit Cards

A Mount Olive resident is accused of credit card fraud. In August, a Dudley resident reported that someone had obtained his debit and credit card while he was in the hospital.  The cards had been used at various locations in Wayne County. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports 39-year-old Tabitha McCoy was determined to be the person responsible for using the victim’s cards.  It was also determined that the victim and defendant knew one another in this case. Warrants were secured and McCoy was arrested Wednesday by the Mount Olive Police Department.  McCoy was turned over to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Squad for processing.  She is charged with two counts of Financial Card Theft and two counts of Financial Card Fraud.  McCoy’s bond was set at $5,000.
