Shriners Conference Benefits Local Economy

The Sudan Shriners conference brings an economic impact of over $200,000 to the Goldsboro area.

According to a report from Visit Goldsboro, an estimated 1,000 Sudan Shriners and their guests visited the city for the organization’s annual Winter Ceremonial Conference and Election of Officers from January 25th – 27th.

That generated an estimated $203,409 in local spending.

Many of the conference’s activities took place at the Maxwell Center, and the Shriners held their annual parade through Downtown Goldsboro.

The Sudan Shriners usually hold their Winter Ceremonial Conference in New Bern, but damage from Hurricane Florence forced the group to relocate this year’s event.
