Summer Youth Employment Deadline Approaches

There are just a few more days for teens to apply for Goldsboro’s Summer Youth Employment Initiative.

The city’s Summer Youth Employment Program plans to offer a minimum of 57 jobs this summer.

Goldsboro Mayor Chuck Allen says the teens can be employed in a variety of locations across the city, including Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, the YMCA and Wayne UNC Health Care.

Allen says the program also teaches responsibility to the teens, some of whom were offered jobs following the past summer programs.

Mayor Allen says Wayne Community College, Goldsboro Housing Authority and NCWorks partner with the city for the Summer Youth Employment Initiative.

Applicants must be City of Goldsboro residents.

The 2019 application period closes on Monday, March 18th.

A mandatory orientation will be held from 6 – 8 PM on March 19th at Wayne Community College.

A copy of the application, eligibility requirements and further information can be found on the City of Goldsboro’s Community Relations Department webpage.

Interested applicants can also call the Community Relations Department at 919-580-4359.
