Three Hospitalized Following SUV Crash (PHOTOS)

A two vehicle accident early Thursday morning at the intersection of John Street and Martin Street in Mount Olive sent three people to the hospital for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.  Mount Olive firefighters and Wayne County EMS Station 9 responded to the crash involving red and silver SUVs about a block east of Mount Olive Middle School. Two people from the red SUV and one from the sliver SUV were taken to the hospital in Goldsboro by EMS Station 9 medic personnel.   According to law enforcement officers on the scene, witnesses said the silver SUV was heading north on Martin Street and the red SUV was heading west on John Street when the accident happened at the intersection. The sliver SUV failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into the driver’s side door on the red SUV, causing it to flip onto its side. By the time the fire and EMS teams arrived on the scene, all of the people involved had exited both vehicles. Mount Olive Police are investigation the traffic accident. The intersection was closed for about an hour while fire and EMS cleaned up the accident scene.
