UNC Health Care Now Offers Telehealth Service

You can now reach a UNC doctor any time of day, any day of the year through your smartphone, tablet or computer.

UNC Urgent Care 24/7 is a new internet-based way to speak with a board-certified, primary care physician for non-emergency medical situations.

Janie Jaberg is the President and CEO of Wayne UNC Health Care.

She says UNC Urgent Care 24/7 is especially useful during the evenings, weekends, and even if you’re travelling.

The service basically works like FaceTime or Skype.

Patients can select their provider and appointment time.

The provider can even prescribe some medications during the appointment.

Jaberg says the telehealth service can help you through numerous common conditions.

She says hundreds have already utilized the new telehealth system, and the service was offered free-of-charge during Hurricane Florence.

Jaberg stresses UNC Urgent Care 24/7 is NOT for life-threatening emergencies.

UNC Urgent Care 24/7 costs a flat rate of just $49 per visit.

You do NOT need to be a UNC Health Care patient to utilize the service.
