Future Looks Bright For The Maxwell Center

The Maxwell Center is celebrating a successful first year.

Wayne County opened the Maxwell Regional Agricultural and Convention Center on March 1st of 2018.

In an update to the Wayne County Commissioners this month, Maxwell Center General Manager James Wade says the new facility has stayed busy since its grand opening, with 200 event days booked since the grand opening.

In a surprise, Wade says The Maxwell Center has actually exceeded its budgeted income in its first year.

Wade says the next year is already looking promising as well, with 145 event days booked before next March.

The Maxwell Center also won a Convention South Readers Choice Award in 2018.

There’s still one issue that needs to be addressed for The Maxwell Center, as pointed out by Wayne County Commissioner Ray Mayo.

Mayo says a hotel is still needed near The Maxwell Center.

In honor of its first year of operation, The Maxwell Center is holding “The First 365” contest on its website where participants can win a $500 credit toward equipment or room rental at the facility.
