Seven Springs Resilient Following Multiple Hurricanes

(NORTH CAROLINA NEWS NETWORK) — Down but not out.

The Wayne County town of Seven Springs continues to recover from Hurricane Florence.

The third major storm in the past 20 years has changed the landscape of the town, but not its resolve.

Having to overcome those repeated natural disasters, especially the flooding, would be difficult for any city or town.

Seven Springs Mayor Stephen Potter tells Spectrum News they’re taking it one day at a time.

A couple of months ago, a popular community hangout, Mae’s Restaurant, reopened.

It had been shut down after major flooding last September.

Local residents of Seven Springs watch as the town’s streets flood from Hurricane Florence.
