Suspect Arrested For Mimosa Street Shooting

Police have arrested a Goldsboro man for attempted murder following a shooting that left one person critically injured. According to the Goldsboro Police Department, 25-year-old Alexander R. Shaw was taken into custody on the warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder during a traffic stop in Goldsboro on Sunday.  Officers responded to the 1400 block of Mimosa Street on March 2nd and found 42-year-old Steven B. Britt suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Britt had to be taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for treatment.  During the investigation, Shaw was developed as a suspect in the case.  According to the GPD, Shaw is a validated gang member.  Shaw’s bond was set at $2.5 million and he was left in the custody of the Wayne County Detention Center.
