Crash Sends Four to The Hospital

Late Saturday afternoon, firefighters from Mount Olive, along with EMS Stations 8 and 9, responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of North Breazeale Ave and Highway 55 East in front of McDonald’s. Four people were taken to the hospital in Goldsboro with non-life threatening injuries to be checked out. Law enforcement on the scene said the accident occurred when a white Ford car traveling east on N.C. 55 attempted to make a left turn onto North Breazeale Ave and was struck by a silver SUV that was heading west on N.C. 55. The accident closed several lanes of traffic through the intersection. The crash is under investigation by the Mount Olive Police Department. Fire and law enforcement remained on the scene for about 45 minutes while the accident site was cleaned up.
