Yeah, I think the bashing needs to halt on this and let her tell her side of it. She’s not one of the frequent flyers.

So why she was charged if it was self-defense?

She absolutely had the right to stand her ground in her home. She obviously did not intend to take his life as evidenced by his gun shot wound to his arm. She did not have a duty to consider any fact except the well being of her family and home. The Goldsboro Police Department should be called to answer as to why this woman who was being threatened and assaulted would be charged..it is shameful she would be victimized by those charged with protecting her. We,wish her well and hope she still have that gun and continue to be prepared to protect hers.

He shouldn’t of went in there and he shouldn’t of been threatening them and the kids.

I know right, Boots! Thank God it was a targeted individual and NOT a schoolhouse!

I don’t think there were any middle-class white males with a history of untreated mental health issues and absent parents mentioned in the story, so how exactly do school shootings fit in here?

I have to imagine that 2nd Amendment rights and “Stand Your Ground” laws are high priorities for people such as yourself, so I wonder what’s different about it when this woman exercises her right to protect herself and her family in her own home, with a legally registered firearm? Why are assumptions so different when “they” are involved? And just who are “they”? Black people? Women? Poor people? People of lesser intelligence? Anyone that you perceive to be of a lower socioeconomic status than yourself? Exactly what is the criteria to be classified as a “they” and be undeserving of the same rights bestowed on other Americans?
