Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni Homecoming This Weekend

Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni & Friends, Inc. will celebrate its 64th annual homecoming over the weekend of Thursday through Sunday, May 23 to 26, with classes ending with “4” and “9” receiving special honor. This years’ theme is “Coming Together: Moving in the Right Direction”

The National organization has chapters in Goldsboro, Atlanta, New York, and Washington, D.C. with the anticipation of new chapters in the Tri-City (Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill) and Charlotte chapter waiting to join. It has traditionally drawn more than 10,000 former students back to the area.

The weekend will kick off Thursday with the scholarship and awards program at Goldsboro High School at 7 p.m. All celebrating classes are encouraged to attend. Scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors. Souvenir books can be purchased for $5.00.

The annual board meeting will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. The annual homecoming dance will be held at the H.V. Brown Hall on Friday night from 9 pm until 1 am. Membership ticket is required for admission.

The homecoming parade will be downtown on Saturday at 10 am. Line -up will begin at 8 am.

The homecoming picnic will be held Saturday at the H.V. Brown Hall. Lunch will be from 12 noon until 3 p.m.

The Black & White dance will take place Saturday from 9 pm. to 1 am with a cost of $20.00 at the H.V. Brown Hall.

Sunday worship service will be at 11 am. at the H.V. Brown Hall with Guest Speaker Rev. Charles Franklin and Guest Soloist, Mrs. Victoria Ruffin Atkins.

The campus will be open to all classes for their picnics after the morning service. Vendors are welcome.
