Post 11 Baseball Defeats Wilson Post 13

WILSON — Wayne County American Legion Post 11 improved to 4-0 in Area I East Division play with a 3-0 win over Wilson Post 13 at Fleming Stadium.

Josh Hartsfield pitched a complete game shutout for Post 11, and scattered six hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

Clay Matthews and Blake Gipson each had two hits for Wayne County. Case Kermode added a hit and an RBI.

Post 11 (12-4) entertains Kinston at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Goldsboro High School.

    Ain’t nothing in this entire world that gets me going like some Post 11 baseball. While the baseball itself is exhilarating, my favorite part is the hot dogs. Put you a lil’ bit of mustard, chili, onions, and you got somethin’ that will satisfy the pickiest of eaters. Make sure they’re Bright Leaf though. I always bring a pack of my own in case they don’t have them. That way, I can just swap them out.
