Suspect Charged For Indecent Liberties With A Child

A Wayne County woman is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a teenager. 22-year-old Katie M. Ballance of Pikeville has been arrested and charged with Indecent Liberties with a Child and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.  In April, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was informed of the inappropriate relationship that was sexual in nature between the suspect and a 15-year-old male.  Ballance was arrested as the result of the investigation.  She was given a $5,000 secured bond.

if it was consensual… the boy should be charged as well .. parents obviously caught on .. cause I’m sure this is not the first incident with them

Because that makes sense… It’s hilarious how little people know about the law.

What would they charge the boy with? An adult cannot have consensual sex with a 15 yo since the child is not of age to consent legally. Plus 15 yo doesn’t have the ability to truly understand the consequences of a sexual relationship.

No excuse for her actions. 15 yo girls who sleep with grown men also typically know what they’re doing but it doesn’t matter what they know, they are children. Adults have to set the example. And yes, some teenagers look older than they are, better check that ID!!!

That bond would’ve been a lot higher if it had been the other way around.
