Drugs Founds During DWI Traffic Stop

A drunk driving arrest also leads to drug charges for a Goldsboro man. On Saturday, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office ACE Team was patrolling the area of George Street and A Street when a vehicle was stopped for unsafe moving violations.  The ACE Team reported smelling the odor of alcohol upon making contact with the driver, 58-year-old Charles Carter.  Carter was taken into custody for Driving While Impaired.  During a probable cause search of the vehicle, narcotics were allegedly found.  Carter was arrested on charges of DWI, Trafficking Schedule II, and Possession of Schedule VI.  He was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.
