Car Overturns Near Mt. Olive Airport (PHOTOS)

Early Monday afternoon, Mount Olive firefighters and Wayne County EMS Station 9 were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on Northeast Church Road between Old Mount Olive Highway and Indian Springs Road. The accident was located near the the end of the Mount Olive Airport runway. The driver of the car, Diasia Senatus of Mount Olive, managed to get out of the vehicle with the assistance of a bystander and was sitting in a car when fire and EMS arrived on the scene. The driver was checked over by EMS personnel and refused medical transport to the hospital. The car was heading west on Northeast Church Road when it apparently ran off the right shoulder of the road, over-corrected, ran off the road, struck a ditch bank, and overturned. State Troopers on the scene said Senatus would be charged with Failure to Maintain Lane Control. No one else was injured in the crash, and firefighters remained on the scene for about 30 minutes.

I was always told that if you ever had to work on the bottom side of your car and did not have a lift, that driving it into a ditch was the next best thing, but don’t think they meant quite like this
