One Dead, Suspect Arrested In Kinston Shooting

One person is dead and a suspect is in custody following a shooting in Kinston. The Kinston Police Department responded to the report of a gunshot victim on Williams Street near Old Snow Hill Road around 11:40 PM Friday.  Officers found 51-year-old Thomas K. Sutton of Kinston suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Sutton died at the scene.  A person at the scene immediately identified himself as the shooter and surrendered to officers. Two firearms were also recovered.  The Kinston P.D. did not release the identity of the suspect, but all of the parties involved were reportedly acquainted.  Kinston Police say they are not seeking additional suspects at this time, and additional details will be released as they become available.
