Post 11 Working To Refill Legion Lake

In 1999, Hurricane Floyd wiped out Legion Lake in Wayne County.

Now, the American Legion Post 11 is working to replenish the lake.

Ron Medus and Pete Benton with the American Legion appeared on the Jeff Farrow Morning Show on Goldsboro’s Greatest Hits 1150 and 98.3.

Medus says it will take about $350,000 to rebuild the dam.

Benton says veterans can use a place like Legion Lake for rest and relaxation.

There is a GoFundMe page (Save Our Veterans Dam and Lake) to help refill Legion Lake.

You can also learn more about the effort at the American Legion Post 11 at 2973 Highway 117 South, or call the post at 919-734-0407.
