One Person Found Dead After Mobile Home Fire

Late Tuesday afternoon, firefighters from Mount Olive, Dudley, Calypso, Oak Wolfe and Smith Chapel were called to a working structure fire on Cleveland Drive off South Breazeale Ave. As firefighters arrived on the scene, they found heavy smoke coming from a single-wide mobile home on the 100 block. Firefighters quickly laid several attack lines on the ground and approached the structure from both sides. Firefighters eventually gained control of the blaze. At the time of the blaze, firefighters weren’t sure if the mobile home was occupied.  With Mount Olive Police on the scene and EMS personnel on standby, firefighters entered the mobile home looking to see if there was anyone inside. After a short period of time, firefighters discovered a body inside of the structure. The scene was then turned over to the Mount Olive P.D. The Fire Marshall was called to the scene and the SBI was contacted to come conduct an investigation. The name of the deceased was withheld due to notification of the family. Firefighters remained on the scene for about four hours.
