Mother Accused Of Murdering Infant Son

A Lenoir County mother is accused of killing her infant son. On April 22nd, the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office responded to the infant death on the 1500 block of Roanoke Ave in Kinston.  The mother of the 21-month-old boy called 911 because her son was limp and not responding.  The child was pronounced dead at the scene.  An autopsy revealed the infant had suffered traumatic injuries and proper medical attention was not given. During the investigation, detectives determined the child was in the custody of his mother, Heather N. Lipscomb, when the injuries occurred.  Warrants were secured and Lipscomb was arrested on an open count of Murder on July 4th.  She was held at the Lenoir County Detention Center with no bond.
