Hot Day, Hot Rides At First Ever “Cars & Cops” (PHOTO GALLERY)

“Cars and Cops” park themselves at the Berkeley Mall for an afternoon of fun in the sun.

The City of Goldsboro and the Goldsboro Police Department held their first ever “Cars and Cop” event Sunday afternoon.  The police showed off their vehicles, including the impressive tactical MRAP vehicle.  The public in turn showed off their antique and customs cars and trucks.

Officer Michael Parks with the Goldsboro Police Department explained the idea behind the event was to give the public a safe space to show off their hot rides.

Parks says the event was a chance for police to interact with the community, particularly the car enthusiast community.

Goldsboro Police officials were very pleased that about 70 vehicles came out to take part in the first event. There are plans to hold more “Cars and Cops” events in the future.
