Peggy Ham Walston

Peggy Ham Walston

July 20, 2022, 71, Goldsboro –

Peggy Ham Walston, 71, finished her course in faith and was graciously received into her Lord’s presence on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Peggy was born in Wayne County to the late Eugene and Dollie Langston Ham on April 17, 1951. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Ham and Hazel Ham Sorrell; and brothers, James Ham, Linwood Ham, and Kenneth Ham.

An active member of Fort Run Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church at Shines Crossroads, Peggy could be found participating in many of the ministries of the church. She served as a Sunday school teacher each Sunday, volunteered as the Bible School teacher year after year, and sang in the choir. Children in the community could depend on her to provide transportation to church or any other activities they wished to attend. Her love and heart for the youth of her church was evident as she poured hours of time into ministries for them.

Church and family took top priority in Peggy’s life, but she also loved her work family like her own family. Peggy worked a 36-year career at CMP Pharma in Farmville before retirement. After retirement, she found her greatest joy in keeping her granddaughter, Lennon. Peggy was diligent in giving her time, talents, and treasure to her family, church family, and work family. She was a constant support for those she loved, she was always doing for others, and folks of all ages received blessings from her gift of encouragement. A great listener, she was a confidant to many and was looked up to for wise, sound advice. Peggy had a true servant’s heart and exemplified Christ’s love.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro and other times at her home. A service to celebrate the Christian life of Peggy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Fort Run P.F.W.B. Church with Pastor Larry Turlington officiating. Interment will follow in the Snow Hill Cemetery.

Peggy is survived by her husband of almost 45 years, Charles E. Walston; daughter and son-in-law, Maggie and Jonathan Smith; granddaughter, Lennon Rose Smith; sisters, Dottie H. Littleton (Donnie) and Pauline Jones; brothers, Ronnie Ham (Cathy) and Jimmy Ham (Belva); and several nieces and nephews she loved very much. She is also survived by some very special family members who include: Sharon Carter and Venice and Lindsey Brown and their children, Dustin, Melanie and Mason.

Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com
