Event Aims To Empower Parents & Teachers

Operation Unite Goldsboro wants to empower parents and teachers as the new school year begins. The organization holds its 2nd annual Back to School: Parents Edition event at 6 PM this Thursday, August 15, at Rebuilding Broken Places, 2105 North William Street in Goldsboro.

Dr. Thomas E. Smith from Dillard Academy Charter School will be the keynote speaker.  There will be student, parent and educator panel discussions.

This event is intended to not only establish relationships but also provide parents with resources they can use throughout the year to help their child. These resources are from the school and community, including the Boys and Girls Club. Teachers will also get resources to use and be able to pass on to kids to help them.
