WCPS Employee Accused Of Indecent Liberties With A Student

A Wayne County Public Schools employee is accused of having sexual contact with a teenager.

On Monday, the teen’s parents alerted the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office that 24-year-old Ryder H. Webb of Farmville had contact with their daughter that was sexual in nature.  The Wayne County Sheriff’s Special Victim’s Unit began an investigation and determined the crimes began when the juvenile was 15-years-old and the suspect was 23.  The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the investigation into these crimes.

Wayne County Public Schools confirmed Webb was employed at C.B. Aycock High School as a social studies teacher since 2017.  He was suspended with pay on Monday and resigned on Wednesday.

Webb was arrested at his residence on Wednesday with assistance from the Farmville Police Department.  He is charged with Indecent Liberties with a Child and Indecent Liberties with a Student.  Webb’s bond was set at $100,000 secured.
