Ricky Dean “Buck” Bennett

Ricky Dean “Buck” Bennett, 59, life long resident of the Mount Olive area, carpenter and building construction worker, passed away Thursday afternoon, Sept. 5, 2019 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

His life will be remembered in a service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at Tyndall Funeral Home with pastor Jeff Dail officiating, followed by visitation. Family and friends are also welcome to call at the home of Phil and Barbara Combs, 1169 Old Smith Chapel Road, Mount Olive.

Ricky is survived by his daughter, Tonya A. Ginevan and husband, Greg, of Oldtown, MD; two grandchildren, Garrett and Cheyanne Ginevan of Oldtown; his mother, Kay Barwick Odom of Stella; brothers and sisters, Kenneth Bennett and lady friend, Lisa Pickett, of Mount Olive, Terrie Kay Taylor and friend, David Lassiter, of Goldsboro, Barry Ray Bennett and friend, Shana Flood, of Princeton, and Laurie Ann Owens and friend, Gray Baker, of Eureka; and Ricky’s wife and friend, Karen Faye Moody Bennett of Mount Olive. He is also survived by his loyal companion, “Little Man,” his beloved dog.

He was preceded in death by his father, Perry “Bud” Bennett, Jr.; a brother, Perry Wayne Bennett; and grandparents, Perry and Mary Bennett, and Wade and Ruby Barwick.

Floral offerings are welcome, and so are memorial gifts to Mount Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church, 130 Ed Edmundson Road, Mount Olive, NC 28365.
