UPDATE: NCDOT Reports Six Road Closures In Wayne County

The N.C. Department of Transportation says six roads remain closed in Wayne County following Hurricane Dorian:

  • Lees County Club Road (SR-1144) south of Mount Olive – both directions
  • Hooks Road (SR-1353) northwest of Fremont – both directions
  • Antioch Road (SR-1535) east of Fremont – both directions
  • Kelly Springs Road (SR-1937) east of Mount Olive – both directions
  • Camp Jubilee Road (SR-1948) east of Mount Olive – both directions
  • Race Track Road (SR-1717) east of Goldsboro – both directions

High water covers the roads in some cases. In other cases, power lines are entangled in trees and NCDOT crews cannot safely remove the trees until the power company first deactivates the wires.
