Danny Eugene Vinson

September 11, 64, Goldsboro

Danny Eugene Vinson “Stonewall”, 64, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

Stonewall was born in Wayne County on September 17, 1954 to the late Airlon Eugene Vinson and Marie Lancaster Vinson. For many years, he owned and operated Stonewall’s Restaurant in the Hood Swamp Community. He enjoyed cooking and was mighty particular about the meals served at his restaurant. As a boy, Stonewall attended Bethel United Methodist Church and later in life was led to the Lord by his good friend, PastorAlan Hicks, of Just Jesus Community Church. He will also be remembered by many as the original drummer for the Super Grit Cowboy Band.

Stonewall enjoyed life and was always concerned about everyone. He would often be the one to give an encouraging word. Stonewall also enjoyed fixing things and would get the simple pleasure out of tinkering in his barn.

The family will greet friends on Friday, September 13, 2019 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate his life at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Alan Hicks officiating.

Stonewall is survived by his wife of 35 years, June Vinson; son, Airlon Vinson and wife Kelly of Hood Swamp; the apple of his eye, his grandson, Kellon Stonewall Vinson; sister, Libby V. Strickland and husband Jerry of Byrdstown, TN; brother-in-law, Tim Robinson and wife Brenda; and by his Hood Swamp and Stonewall’s Family that he loved very much.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
