Charges Filed For July Storage Building Fire

A Fremont woman is accused of arson following a July fire in the northern Wayne County community. In the early morning hours of July 15th, firefighters from the Fremont, Pikeville and Northeast volunteer fire departments responded to the blaze at a storage building.  The Wayne County Fire Marshall was called in to determine the origin of the fire.  After examining the structure and its contents, the Fire Marshall and Wayne County Sheriff’s Fire Investigator determined the blaze to be an incendiary fire.  The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Heather D. Joyner has been identified as the person that set the fire, and she has been charged with felony counts of Burning of a Boat, Burning of a Building, and Insurance Fraud.  Her bond has been set at $15,000 unsecured.
