Escaped Inmate Recaptured In Rocky Mount

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports an escaped inmate has been recaptured.  Victor Ramon Castro was taken back into custody around 11:15 PM Friday night at the Sunshine Inn in Rocky Mount, NC. He was captured with limited resistance as he attempted to evade arrest. Castro was taken into custody with the assistance of the U S Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force, Rocky Mount Police Department, Nash County Sheriff’s Office and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Castro  was placed under arrest by Wayne County Sheriff Larry Pierce and was transported back to the Wayne County Detention Center for the charge of Escape from a Detention Center and placed under a $25,000 secured bond.  On September 13th, it was discovered Castro had walked off from the Wayne County Detention Center while working as a trustee.

Victor R. Castro is captured Friday evening.
