October Heat Wave Coming To An End

(NORTH CAROLINA NEWS NETWORK) — Weather patterns are a hot topic right now, as North Carolina is experiencing record-breaking October temperatures.

State Climatologist Corey Davis says that a continued Bermuda High Pressure system and the northern location of the jet stream has caused this historic heat wave.

Davis says that North Carolina’s fall foliage is being impacted by the extreme heat, but he says the leaves should start to turn colors a few weeks behind schedule in the early part of November.

Cooler temperatures are expected to make their way into North Carolina by Saturday.
