Suspect Caught With Meth, Firearm After Police Chase

A wanted person doesn’t get far as he leads authorities on a brief chase. On Saturday, a Wayne County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle for displaying an expired registration plate.  The deputy learned the driver, 27-year-old Shahaun J. Johnson of Goldsboro, had an order for arrest.  Johnson reportedly fled the traffic stop leading to the brief vehicle pursuit.  When Johnson was finally taken into custody, he was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine and a firearm.  Johnson is charged with Felony Flee to Elude, Possession of Schedule II, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. He was placed into the Wayne County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
