USTA Brings Championship Tennis To Goldsboro This Weekend

Goldsboro will once again host a major statewide tennis competition. The Travel and Tourism Department for the City of Goldsboro and Wayne County has announced the United States Tennis Association North Carolina is returning to Goldsboro and Wayne County this weekend for the Singles League State Championships.  The main tournament site will be headquartered in Herman Park in Goldsboro Friday through Sunday.  Over 500 of the state’s best tennis players will face off over the tournament, utilizing a minimum of 48 courts throughout Goldsboro, Wayne and Greene counties. Goldsboro has been the host city for the USTA tournament since 2013, generating an estimated $1.2 million economic impact over the last seven years to the local economy, according to Visit Goldsboro.  Spectators are welcome to watch any and all of the tennis matches throughout the weekend.
