Friday morning started out a little on the cool side just before sun up. However, by the time the sun was shining, the roads became very busy as people came out looking for those best deals on Christmas gifts. By 8 AM Friday, the parking lot at the Walmart in Mount Olive was filled with holidays shoppers trying to cash in on those Black Friday deals. Several shoppers said they were on the way up to Lowe’s Home Improvement in Goldsboro with hope of finding gifts for the people on their Christmas list. The Lowe’s parking lot was packed with vehicles by 2 PM Friday afternoon and stayed that way throughout the day. One Lowe’s employee working in the home and garden section said many fresh-cut Christmas Trees were bought Friday.
