Sen. Perry Announces Reelection Effort

Sen. Jim Perry

Candidate filing season is underway in North Carolina.

As the filing period opened on Monday, State Senator Jim Perry announced he would file paperwork to run for reelection.  Perry was appointed to represent the 7th District in the North Carolina State Senate in January of 2019 after Senator Lewis Pate announced his resignation due to health reasons.

In the statement announcing his intention to seek reelection, Perry says:

“Lawmakers in our area have to work together to help our rural communities. We absolutely must face an urban rural divide in our state.”

The 7th Senate District is made up of Wayne and Lenoir counties.

Candidate filing for the 2020 elections in North Carolina runs through December 20th.
