Thomas Allen “Tommy’ Griffin

Thomas Allen “Tommy’ Griffin, 68, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at his home.

Tommy was born in Wayne County on January 20, 1951 to the late Allen J. and Ruby S. Griffin. After graduating in 1969 from Goldsboro High School, he served four years with the National Guard. Tommy was a Pest Control Technician for over forty years. Upon his retirement in Wilmington, Tommy moved back to Goldsboro where he enjoyed hanging around with friends and family. One of Tommy’s favorite morning activities during his retirement was eating breakfast with friends at Ashley’s Restaurant and then walking in the park with his dachshund “Snoopy”.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Tommy’s life at 11:00 AM in the chapel with Rev. Walter Sloan officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Tommy is survived by two sons, Chris Griffin and wife Ashley of Goldsboro and Channing Griffin and fiancée Nicci of Goldsboro; sister, Mary Jo Dudley and husband Ricky; brother, Dennis Griffin and wife Vicky. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Skylar Griffin and Tanner Griffin and his pal “Snoopy”.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
