K9 Alerts Deputies To Meth In Vehicle

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrests a meth-dealing suspect. On Wednesday, 35-year-old Jason C. Simonsen of Pikeville was pulled over for a motor vehicle violation.  While the deputy was dealing with the traffic stop, a K-9 unit gave a positive alert on the vehicle.  That led to a search where a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were reportedly discovered.  Simonsen was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Maintaining a Vehicle.  His bond was set at $5,000 and Simonsen was placed into the Wayne County Detention Center.
