Saluting Seymour

Every week, Saluting Seymour and SoundScope highlight an airman serving at the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro.

Airman 1st Class Richard Schafer with the 4th Support Squadron

Schafer joined the Air Force just about one year ago. He comes to Goldsboro from Akron, Ohio. Schafer works in the fitness center at Seymour Johnson, and he plans to use the Air Force’s tuition assistance to pursue a career in physical fitness. Schafer says he’s adapting to life in Goldsboro, and he likes to work out, play basketball, or check out the game at Heroes during his free time.  Schafer says the Air Force allowed him to follow his passion for physical fitness.
