Tickets Going Fast For City’s MLK Day Luncheon

It’s the 32nd year of the City of Goldsboro’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Luncheon. The annual event honoring the work of Dr. King is being held at noon on Monday, January 20th, at The First PH Church, 1100 The First Church Road in Goldsboro.

Goldsboro Community Relations Director Shycole Simpson-Carter talked about this year’s event on WFMC.  She says the luncheon is an extension of the city’s efforts to make Goldsboro more inclusive for everyone.  Simpson-Carter also says the event reminds everyone to recommit themselves to Dr. King’s dream.

U.S. Congressman G.K. Butterfield will be the keynote speaker for the event. Butterfield, a Wilson native, is a former civil rights attorney who has served North Carolina’s 1st Congressional District since 2014.

Tickets cost $15 and they’re going fast. To purchase tickets, contact the Community Relations Department at 919-580-4359 or [email protected], or visit the Community Relations Department at Goldsboro City Hall.
