Purple Up! This Thursday For Military Children

2019 Purple Up! activities

April is the Month of the Military Child.

With an Air Force base in the community, Wayne County residents are encouraged to Purple Up! and show their support for the kids of our nation’s military members.

Cristy Barnes-Williams is the School Liaison for Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.  She appeared on Jeff Farrow’s Morning Show on Goldsboro’s Greatest Hits 1150 and 98.3 and talked about how the community can show its purple pride for military children.

Jasmine Carroll is the Youth Programs Director for Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.  She says many of the Month of the Military Child activities are happening virtually this year.

You can find out more about the this year’s activities at the Youth Programs at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Facebook page.

The community is asked to show their purple this Thursday, April 9th, and use the #purpleupwayne when posting their efforts to social media.
