Health Fair

November 15, 2017 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

Fayetteville VA Medical Center’s Goldsboro Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) will hold a “Health Fair” Nov. 15 from 8 a.m. to noon at the clinic’s location at 2610 Hospital Road in Goldsboro.  The target audience for the event is Goldsboro-area Veterans who are already enrolled for VA health care as well as Veterans who are eligible but haven’t enrolled yet.

“Come join us for a day of food, prizes and education,” said Nicole Williford, Goldsboro CBOC Nurse Manager. “We want all area Veterans to take advantage of the opportunity”

The activity will feature health education and information exchange along with flu shots, Hepatitis C testing and pneumococcal vaccination for enrolled Veterans.

Other highlights include briefings, demonstrations and presentations on a variety of subjects such as My HealtheVet, NVCC/Choice, home telehealth, gun and fire safety, nutrition and more.

Participating community partners include: Goldsboro Fire and Police Depts, Veterans Service Officers, Disabled American Veterans, Volunteers of America

Anyone who served in the U.S. military is invited to attend the event.  An eligibility and enrollment specialist will be on-hand to accept Veterans’ enrollments on site.

Veterans wanting to enroll for VA health care are highly encouraged to bring copies of their DD Form 214 (discharge paperwork) and last year’s financial information to expedite enrollment in the system.

For more information about the event, contact the Goldsboro CBOC at (919) 731-4809.  The clinic opened July 1, 2013 to provide high-quality health care close to home for Veterans in Wayne, Duplin, Lenoir, Sampson and surrounding counties.  Hours of operation are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
