Teen Suicide Forum

The Mental Health Association in Wayne County and Eastpointe are sponsoring a “Teen Suicide Forum” in observance of May is Mental Health Month. The forum will be held in Room 101 of the Walnut Building at Wayne Community College.

Teen Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of deaths in North Carolina of Children ages 10 o 17 according to he NC Institute of Medicine and NC Child. Information about the signs, issues and resources that family and friends should be aware of. The forum participants will be Mel Powers from Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Amy Ivey, Psychologist and Etta Craigwell from Wayne County Public Schools and from Simplicity Counseling Services Lynne Tyndall and Michael Headen.
