Wayne County records its 17th and 18th COVID-19 deaths. According to Wayne County Government, the latest coronavirus-related deaths occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday. The first individual was in their mid-30s and had underlying health conditions. The second individual was in their early-60s and also had underlying health conditions. Both of these latest COVID-19 deaths did not come from a congregate care facility in the county.
According to the Thursday update from Wayne County, there have now been 900 total positive cases of COVID-19 in the county. Only 363 of those cases came from outside of a congregate care facility (Neuse Correctional Institution, nursing home, etc.). It’s estimated 636 people have already recovered from the virus in the county.
