John Wesley George, 82, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at his home.

John was born in Clinton, Indiana on October 7, 1937 to the late Curtis and Elaine George. He loved Freedom Baptist Church and was a dedicated and faithful member. John was a very strong believer in Jesus Christ and felt that nothing was impossible when you place your trust in God. His faith gave him the courage to face anything in life. John will be remembered by many for his love of music and for his creativity as a painter.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Jonathan Smith officiating.

John is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda Steele George; daughters, Heather Davis, Joanna Whitfield, Loretta Ayers and Debra Sue George; sons, Jonathan D. George and Wesley P. George; sister, Marcella Stucker; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren he loved very much including grandchildren: Elizabeth Whitfield, Stephen Whitfield II and Lily Davis and great-grandson, Carson Kelly.
