Janice Futrell Horne, 82, went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.

Janice was born in Wayne County on August 16, 1937 to the late Henry Carson Futrell and Lida Belle Lee Futrell. She was a valued legal assistant to William Dees at the Dees Law Firm for over 40 years. Janice was a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church.
Janice leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and support for the people she cared about. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service celebrating Janice’s life will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the cemetery of Stoney Creek O.F.W.B. Church with Pastor Barry Williamson officiating. Janice will lie in state on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 during normal business hours at Seymour Funeral Home. The family will greet friends Thursday following the service at the cemetery.

Janice is survived by her children, Lisa Horne Daniel, Kenneth Horne and wife Sue, and Keenan Horne; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Futrell Howell and husband Henry and Wilma Fulkerson and husband Michael; and brother, Arnold Futrell and wife Sadie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Darren Horne and the father of her children, Keith Horne.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to the cemetery fund at Stoney Creek O.F.W.B. Church, 752 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
