The Neuse River is slowly dropping after approaching flood levels this past weekend. A Flood Warning was issued for the Neuse River near Goldsboro Saturday as the river reached 17-feet, which is Action Stage. According to the latest readings from the National Weather Service, the river crested just below 18-feet, meaning it did not quite reach Minor Flood Stage. The latest forecast shows the Neuse River dropping quickly over the next few days.

Elsewhere, a Flood Warning remains in effect for the Neuse River near Kinston, where the river is expected to enter Minor Flood Stage later today (MON) and crest around 15-feet on Wednesday.

Remember – Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
