The latest scam is targeting Social Security recipients.  According to a Facebook post, the Goldsboro P.D. says there has been an increase in Social Security scams in our area.  The scam phone calls and letters – being reported nationwide – threaten to suspend Social Security benefits due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Anyone who thinks a phone call they received may be a scam, they’re asked to call the local office of the Social Security Administration or the Goldsboro Police Department.
