Just after 6 PM Friday, the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the 1900 block of Day Circle to investigate a Shot Spotter alert of multiple shots being fired. A vehicle was spotted leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was followed to Wayne UNC Healthcare. The driver exited the vehicle with a two-year old child who appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. The child was taken for treatment and transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigations and Crime Scene Unit responded and initiated an investigation.  The investigation continues.
