On Thursday morning, November 5, 2020, Donna Ervin Thomas, 71, moved to her Heavenly home to be with her Lord.
Donna was born in Wayne County on October 31, 1949 to the late Lee and Helen Ervin. She attended Goldsboro Worship Center and founded The Word Healing Center, formerly known as Jehovah Rapha Ministries. Most importantly, Donna loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus, with all her heart, and she loved God’s Word. She was constantly memorizing Bible verses and praying those verses over those she loved. Though she was a humble, gentle woman, Donna was nonetheless a powerful prayer warrior, and only heaven knows what a wonderful and eternal impact all her many years of faithful praying have had on her family, her friends, and the world at large. “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16)
Donna had a very outgoing personality. She loved to laugh and her laugh was infectious. She was a very caring and compassionate person, was always the first to lend a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to a problem. Donna’s faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was her anchor. Her sincere smile, enthusiastic love of life, and concern for all people endeared her to those she met. She loved everyone, encouraged others, and had abundant energy.
Donna will also be remembered for her unconditional love as a wife, mother, and grandmother, and a friend to all. Family was paramount to Donna, she loved nothing more than taking care of them. She was the embodiment of love as we have been taught by our Savior, Christ Jesus.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 9, 2020 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at Goldsboro Worship Center followed by a service to celebrate Donna’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Danny Johnson, Pastor Andy Stovall and Pastor Lynn Epps officiating. Attendees are asked to wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Seating in the church will be limited for safety to 160 people.
Donna is survived by her husband of 50 years, Danny Paul Thomas; children, Scott Thomas and Shari Thomas; and grandchildren, Ashlie Lee and Alex Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in her memory to Goldsboro Worship Center, 900 W. New Hope Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
