John Walter Bennington, 84, passed away Sunday at Wayne UNC Health Care.

He is survived by his wife, Ida Adele Bennington, daughter, Deborah B. Thorn & husband, Michael of Rosewood; grandchildren, Steve Bennington, Mary Miller and Michael Thorn, III; and brother, Roy E Bennington & wife, Eleanor of Staurton, VA

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel Sybil Rees Bennington and Steven Walter Bennington, and son, Carl Dean Bennington.

He was retired from the United States Air Force.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Donald Massey will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.
