Rosewood had another strong showing at a Carolina 1A Conference cross country meet on Tuesday afternoon.

Katelyn Merrit won the girls’ race in 23 minutes and 33 seconds and propelled the team to a first-place finish. Merrit’s teammates Jaylee Amy (23:35), India Young (27:19) and Adler Shaw (29:34) finished in second, third, and fourth place, respectively.

North Duplin was led by Maria Rojas’ fifth-place finish of 29:54.

Rosewood’s Billy Strickland was the top runner in the boys’ meet with a time of 19 minutes, 44 seconds. Trenton Schillinger (20:54) ended up in second, while Carl Belvins (21:03) took fourth. Issac Strickland (21:33) came in fifth and helped Rosewood capture four of the top five times.

North Duplin’s Noel Rangel took third in 20:59.
